Ordained Ministry
My name is Roy Lucas, Jr. and I am called to ordained ministry. I live in one of the thirty-seven surrounding towns of Worcester, Massachusetts. I was raised by a single parent (mother) who shared her faith in God with me and my five surviving siblings. I’m the youngest male sibling and was birth number seven of eight children. I can recall as a little boy how my mother would share her Christian belief with all of us children in a non-threatening way regardless of how tough our personal living conditions were at times. Due to my mother’s prayers and her Christian lifestyle consistency, I developed my own personal faith-walk. At the age of fifteen years old, I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and was gifted with the impartation of the Holy Spirit.
After high school graduation, I attended a Christian University in the Midwest as a scholar-athlete. However, I got caught up in the pursuit of personal fame and glory instead of “seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). I lived many years of my life as a lukewarm Christian before returning to my first love Jesus Christ through His grace and mercy and wonderful righteousness. I co-parent a college-age student who’s the apple of my eye, and although his mother and I are divorced, we maintain a strong friendship and partnership in raising our son.
The Deacon Minister Ordination will assist me in ordained ministry with recognized Biblical training credentials and ongoing leadership tools. With these, I hope to provide proper support to my local church and community with spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial guidance and assistance when needed in leading people to the truth regarding the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. There have been many opportunities and open doors within the past eight years plus, such as; Associate Pastor, Entrepreneurship, Workforce Development, Business Leadership, and Youth and Young Adult development in Leadership/ Mentorship training. I have a passion for those who are considered one of the least of these mentioned in the Bible. I am heavily involved in ministry with populations who are in young adulthood with multiple barriers such as high school dropouts, single parenting, re-entry from prison, drug rehabilitation, and the unemployed and underemployed.
The Christian Leaders Institute free ministry training and ordination has had a profound influence on my personal and professional growth and development in ordained ministry as well as in my daily lifestyle in general. It has reinforced my belief in the importance of every Christ follower being well equipped with Biblical teaching. Then we will be able to share with people who don’t know or understand the great Love of Jesus Christ. My CLI family members can pray for me that Father God will provide me with opportunities to serve all people following the example of Jesus Christ. Blessings!
