Family Ministry Dream
Family Ministry Dream
My name is Carlos Martinez, and I have a family ministry dream. I live in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. I’m 44 years old, and I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At the age of 18, I came to the United State of America. New York wasn’t much of a difference for me, because Puerto Rico is an American territory and the only difference was the weather. So around that time, drugs were the engine of my life. I left the island but continued the same lifestyle. In Puerto Rico, I grew up in a Pentecostal environment. My parents were separated, but my mother was the religious person who raised me in a Pentecostal church. My father has never been a religious person, even though he believes in God and always has been a very responsible father.
In New York, my drug addiction was at its peak, so I decided to join a Christian program called Way Out Church Ministries. It was there that I really met our God. At Way Out, I first encountered the Holy Spirit and received my calling to preach the Way of the Good News. Shortly after that, I met my wife. We have five kids from ages 30 to 19. I’m thankful to say that all of them have the same passion that I have to preach the Good News and help those in need. I have been a chef for 16 years or so and it’s not a job for me, I love what I do. But when it comes to working in the kingdom it’s a different story. That’s my passion. I love to work in the business of our Father.
Today, with the help of my sons and daughters in our family ministry dream, we’re trying to establish a place where people can really find an oasis. It’s about putting ourselves out there. We strongly believe in being light in the middle of darkness, and for that, some of us have to go out there and do what’s necessary. The Deacon Ordination opens many doors for Roots Ministry. Now, we can do community events in order to bring revival in our community. Thanks to Christian Leaders Institute and Christian Leaders Alliance, I now have the proper documentation and credentials to effectively create an impact on my community. We wish to get other leaders of the ministry studying at CLI and get the training that is offered there. We need your prayers that God opens the doors and we can get access to the youth community battling addictions, emotional and family problems, etc. We pray that God will provide a place where we can share the kingdom with all people in need.
