CLA Ordination
CLA Ordination
My name is Joe Dame and I am receiving my CLA ordination as a deacon. I was born in March of 1960. I was baptized in1974, but alcohol, drugs and sex led me away from God’s grace. I married young, and soon discovered I was an alcoholic. The disease destroyed my family and in 1991 I surrender to the Lord through Alcoholics Anonymous. God blessed me with a new business, family, and life. I was sober for 16 years, but somewhere along the way I got off the path and lost it all including my freedom. Setting in a cell, the Lord gave me a choice, die as I was that day or follow His will. I chose to follow His will. That was on January 19, 2012. I’ve tried to follow His will since that day.
It’s taken me four years of growth, but I’m now a minister starting a ministry helping the homeless, abused and addicted. All the spiritual training I received will go toward this end. Two years ago when I started with Christian Leaders Institute, I had broken my ankles and feet on a job-related accident. I spent a lot of time on my knees and a lot of time in prayer. God led me to CLI. I must say I was skeptical at first, but I found the courses very enlightening and challenging. l was off work for almost a year. l took classes daily. l worked very hard, but the Lord let me also see where I needed to take a class again. I found all the courses to be biblically sound.
I have been leading a recovery based Bible study for the past five years in Galveston, Texas. Your classes have helped me with my ability as a leader and a teacher. My life over the last two years has been very difficult at times. Satan and his demons have tried to tempt me, distract me, and lead me astray. Spiritual warfare is a reality. With each attack, I remember 2 Cor.12:9 and my faith in God’s grace becomes all the stronger.
This CLA ordination will give my ministry the credibility it needs to expand and grow. God bless and many thanks CLI.
