Marketplace Ministry Ordination

My name is James LaVine, and I am seeking a marketplace ministry ordination. I am married to my loving wife Laura for 11 years. We blended and adopted each other’s’ children totaling four amazing daughters aging from 15 to 27. I also have four granddaughters.

I was raised Catholic until I was invited to go to a friend’s Baptist church. A few years later, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord at age 13 and was baptized. It was around age 15 that I felt called to be a Pastor and wanted to go in that direction.

That’s when my life got turned upside down. Within six months, I was kicked out of my home, disowned, and disillusioned by church hypocrisy. I joined the Army and served for almost ten years. During that time, I stopped going to church and drifted away from the Lord.

At age 30, with the support of a firm believer and friend, I felt a strong pull and conviction to come back to the church. I re-dedicated my life to Jesus and have been on fire for Him ever since. Now at 52, I am feeling that calling again to pastor, exhort, and teach my brothers and sisters in a more official capacity.

I have been entrepreneurial since I was a teen and I have owned many small businesses over the years. I am currently the owner of an IT consulting and services company which I have had for over 20 years.

I have been teaching the Word of God for almost 20 years. I feel a heavy burden to help my brothers in business enterprise to serve the Lord, their local church, and their community with their businesses. I have been teaching business owners and have led a men’s group study for the last five years.

My call to serve led me to seek out ministry training and marketplace ministry ordination from Christian Leaders Institute. The ordination and training from CLI, Lord willing, will open doors and opportunities to establish a marketplace ministry.

The training from CLI has been an immense blessing. I can keep running my business and take care of my family while taking the classes at CLI with no disruption or financial strain.

Please keep my fellow business owners in your prayers that they would give their lives and their businesses to the Lord. The impact to do good for God in their local community would be immeasurable.
