Ordination Ministry Call
My name is Alesha Armstrong, and I have an ordination ministry call. I am from Big Bear Lake, California. I am a writer with a mission. My mission is to bring Jesus and all he represents to the world (mainly children) through quality children’s entertainment. Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Children’s Book Ministry
One way I do this is through ARPY land, the place where my books originate. It is where my characters live and my kids explore day to day. Mark 10:14 “ Let the little children come to me, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these”
My books are based on the fundamental truth that God wants us to love one another because God is LOVE. We look past our differences and sin and know we all are forgiven by grace. God loves each of us the same and needs us to come to a truce in a place of peace. Luke 18:16 “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
My pen name is Sister Truce. The name indicates the outcome of every book. It also rhymes with what I would consider the two great authors of children’s books who also used pen names:
Mother Goose and Dr. Seuss. Each of my books focuses on the skills of early readers while giving a moral based lesson in the end. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Missionary Ordained Ministry Call
I am a local missionary that travels to locally based parks and reaches the people. After almost 20 years of experience in church as a volunteer and on staff, I have found we sometimes fail to meet the world around us. Most of the children attending VBS already go to church. Therefore, it is not an outreach; it is feeding our kids, which is important, but the premise has been lost.
The two most amazing missionaries I have ever met live and breathe right here. They go to work each day hoping to shine a light one at a hardware tool retail supply company and the other at a countrywide dispatch delivery company. Each has a mission to reach people daily for Jesus, and as to Kitie and Joseph, I do not know anyone else like them. They take the calling to be like Jesus seriously here in America and make a difference day to day. They hold the elevator, pray for co-workers and make their lunch break their mission evangelist opportunity.
Children’s Ordained Ministry Call
One of my biggest heartbreaks is when a child can not read. They usually have a tremendous deficit (ADHD, Autistic, other) and eventually that equates to low self-esteem. Reading is fundamental. Sister Truce books offer a different stance in early education for reading skills. Within the formative years of 3-5, these books offer a resource for phonics and family house words. Furthermore, they are based on the recommended 100 sight words every kindergartner needs to know. They are colorful, short and comprehensive. After years in education and tutoring, I realized this fundamental part of the reading was missing.
We need to not only show children how to read but also show them how to love from a very young age. We have to deal with the anti-bully stance at a much younger level and a different belief system.
