My name is Mark Hager, and I am taking ministry classes ordination classes at CLI. I live in Tennessee. I am 53 years old, a follower of Jesus, a husband, father of five, grandfather to three, and a Youth leader.
Calling Journey
I grew up in a Christian home and spent my early years in children’s church and youth group. I have a prayer warrior mother. She focused on ensuring that I knew who God was and why I should serve Him. I felt God’s calling on my life when I was 16. However, I ran from God when my life took a turn I wasn’t expecting. I continued on this path for most of my adult life.
Then, a little over two years ago, I was sitting in a Sunday morning church service. God told me it was time for me to heed His call. From that point on, I’m serving Him and serving as our church’s Youth Leader and Youth Sunday School teacher.
Looking for Ministry Classes and Ordination
Sometime after that, I met a local pastor who introduced me to Christian Leaders Institute. I knew that this was the opportunity I needed to grow my knowledge and skillset to serve the Lord. I had been searching for classes I could take that would help prepare me for ministry. Eight months later, I enrolled in CLI, and God began working anew in my life.
God has given me a burden for teens, kids, and families. I know He has a plan for my life and that it includes becoming a pastor. My sincerest desire is to serve him by loving the people around me, teaching them about Him, and reaching the lost for His kingdom.
Ministry Classes at CLI and Ordination with CLA
I believe ordination with the Christian Leaders Alliance is the next step in my ministry journey. It’s not for a title or anything of that sort. Instead, it will empower the ministry God has for me and open doors so I can serve Him better. Furthermore, as I continue with my studies (which are fantastic!), I continue to learn as I do the work He has called me to do.
I am so impressed with the quality of the classes at CLI. I believe in their model and share their commitment to providing fantastic educational opportunities for people serving God.
My prayer request is for an unwavering commitment to know God more and His guidance that I may honor His calling on my life. I genuinely desire to be the man that God has called me to be.
