Called to Chaplaincy and Study at CLI
My name is Beverley Greer, but I go by Charlie. I am studying at the Christian Leaders Institute for ministry (Learn more about online Bible courses, Click Here). I am excited to become a Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant with the Christian Leaders Alliance. Then, I plan to go on to study for Chaplaincy.
My Life: Marriage and Family and Salvation
I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Yvonne, for 52 years. We have three grown children, two sons and a daughter, eight wonderful grandkids, and one great-grandchild. My working career was with the utility company Nova Scotia Power Inc. as a Power Line Technician and Line Supervisor. That part of my life was rewarding, but I was far from Christ.
In my preteen and teenage years, I attended Sunday School, Youth Group, and church regularly. In my early twenties, I lost my way and struggled with alcohol for several years. That led me down a very dark path until our church called a young, newly ordained Pastor. We became good friends. He reintroduced me to Jesus in a way that I understood my need for spiritual salvation. His witness and encouragement led me to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior, and I was baptized.
Ministry Study at CLI
I have been involved in our small rural church for 42 years in several volunteer capacities: as a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Group leader. I have been a Deacon for the last number of years. Just recently, I was asked to officiate two weddings for friends. I told them that I would attempt to become licensed to do their weddings. So, I started to research. I came upon Christian Leaders Institute “purely by accident.” I am grateful to CLI’s teachers and training programs, such as the Licensed Official Wedding Officiant and Chaplaincy, which will enable me to serve God and others better.
The wide variety of courses available is a great help to me to further my path in ministry. God called me to enter the Chaplaincy program. I only want to go where God leads me.
