About Me and My Family
I have been called Smiley since my elementary school years. First, they said it was because I couldn’t stop smiling. However, the real reason is that they couldn’t pronounce my name when we were young, so they shortened it to Smiley.
I have been married to my lovely wife Brenda for 28 years this summer. It’s been amazing to marry my high school sweetheart. We have three great children – a 26-year-old young lady, a 20-year-old young man, and a 3-year-old little girl. Our latest addition is our little blessing from God. With a 17-year gap between her and her brother, it has been an incredible journey so far. God sent her to our family just at the right time!
Saved and Serving God
I started to become a Christian when I met my wife in high school. Till now, we had been attending church off and on, not making our lives about God. My son attended Vacation Bible School one summer and invited us to the church. The lovely people there taught us about God’s love. We have been attending since 2016. In 2018, I decided to follow our Savior, devoted my life to Christ, and became a Christian. In 2019, I became a Deacon of Family Ministries and filled in as a preacher at times. I also assist in Teaching Bible classes for the adult and teen groups at our church.
Preaching Minister Journey at CLI and CLA
Christian Leaders Institute and Christian Leaders Alliance have helped me pursue my calling to the Ministry. I am so appreciative that I was able to find them. The courses they offer make it easy for me to learn and equip me for my calling. While I have a full-time job, my new goal in life is to become a Preaching Minister. CLI and CLA have started me on the right path to my goal.

Step 1 – Register for a free study account that automatically enrolls you in the Christian Leaders Getting Started Course Part 1 &2.
After you register, you will automatically be enrolled in the “getting started” course. You will locate the course at your “home” button when logged in. Scroll down to find the Christian Leaders Getting Started Course Part 1 &2 Link. Click the link and open the course.
Step 2 – Complete Part 1 of this course, and then you are allowed to enroll in mini-courses or regular courses.
The Christian Leaders Getting Started Class Part 1 shows you how to enroll in courses and mini-courses. Part 2 of the course connects your calling into ministry with programs offered through Christian Leaders Institute. Part 2 will offer some ministry training and introduce you to the other programs offered through Christian Leaders Institute.
