Blessed to be a Blessing

Greetings! I’m Julie Phillips. My husband Don and I live in beautiful Winter Haven, Florida. I am a student at the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here). Becoming a Certified Christian Wedding Officiant with the Christian Leaders Alliance is a blessing.

I was raised with a strong Christian heritage and have felt God’s presence as far back as age 5 when I memorized the 23rd Psalm. At 16, I asked Jesus into my heart at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp at Oral Roberts University. My goal is to be as yielded and useful to God as possible.

I love reading, traveling, riding a motorcycle, cooking healthy meals, and time with family. I have three adult children living in the Midwestern USA and three grandsons.

My Ministry Journey

The Lord can use what I’ve learned from experiences such as my own teenage rebellion, marriage, parenting, being unequally yoked, sexual and verbal abuse, divorce, alcohol, drug, and pornography addiction of loved ones, loss of family members, financial difficulties, fighting homelessness, and open heart surgery of my infant daughter to name a few. I’m able to hear the painful stories of others with compassion and without judgment. This helps me relate to women and couples more effectively by combining my training with these experiences.

I have enjoyed serving in volunteer and paid leadership positions. These include church staff positions as Director of Adult Ministries in Illinois and later as Financial Administrator at a church in Jupiter, Florida. My mother and I were prayer support for the development of Conquer Series for men’s purity. Later, I worked with Soulrefiner to provide it and other healing curricula to churches worldwide. In 2019, we created a project to increase awareness and funds to fight human trafficking.

Finding CLI and More Ministry Opportunities

Thankfully, I found the Christian Leaders Institute (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here) a few years ago. I then started my journey toward being the hands and feet God can use at a new level. Working with women and couples, I can potentially help connect them to His unique plan for their lives and the importance of focusing their precious time on powerful living in freedom and grace. As a Wedding Officiant, assisting couples to marry is an enhanced opportunity to do so regardless of how closely they know the Lord when we first meet.

I am the Director of Business Development at Keller Williams Realty in Winter Haven, FL. Therefore, I live out my passion for encouraging and coaching agents and those interested in a career in real estate. I often pray with them and weave our Lord into conversations. I make my own schedule which allows me abundant time with the Almighty each morning and more freedom to serve. My gifts of encouragement, service, mercy, and teaching further equip my ministry as I listen to others.

As a lifelong learner, I never thought it possible to get this amazing formal education in life coaching without a huge financial investment. I am surrendered and motivated to learn all I need to know to be prepared for our times. When we purchased our home, I knew it would be used for small group meetings, a haven for the needy, and perhaps even a home church someday. So, I’ve been listening to the Lord’s lead on which classes to take at CLI. I am excited to be adding Certified Wedding Officiant to the list of ways I may be useful and bless others.

I pray for wisdom, my capacity to memorize the Word, and that I hear the Holy Spirit as I serve. Thank you!
