A New Perspective

My name is Donna Peterson, and I live in Show Low, Arizona, USA. I have lived here for less than two years as I am originally from Wichita, Kansas, where I have lived most of my life. With a Women’s Ministry calling, I study at the Christian Leaders Institute for Women’s Ministry training.

When my husband and I moved to Show Low, my life as I knew it changed. We no longer have “creature comforts” here. My husband and I live on our son’s forty acres, about an hour into the wilderness (the National Forest is on two sides of the property). We live in a VERY SMALL camper off the grid. This was a massive change for us, and we had to learn priorities.

I wake up every morning with the sun and begin my day with devotions. I read through the chapters for my yearly Bible reading plan, do my personal Bible study, and do my group Bible study daily lessons. It is my greatest joy to study the Word of God. Never before in my life had I gone so in-depth with my research.

Women’s Ministry Calling

Out of my newfound passion for God’s Word, I took on the Women’s Bible Study leadership at my church. I thoroughly enjoy leading these women each week in digging into the Word.

Shortly afterward, I felt a Women’s Ministry calling from God and started one at our church. Out of my desire to learn more about how to do the work, I stumbled across the Christian Leaders Institute. The Holy Spirit guided me to stretch myself and take on a more active role in my church by becoming an Ordained Minister and continuing my education to become a better leader for the Kingdom.

With the full support of my husband, my pastor, and my congregation, I am following the Spirit’s leading and will continue to work through the programs offered by CLI.

If not for the free ministry classes and ordination, this education would be out of reach because my husband and I are currently unemployed (disabled). I was so happy to find this opportunity, and I can not say enough how much I appreciate the generous donors who make this possible.
