Pursuing Ordination in Texas: The Journey of Stephen Travis Pierce
Stephen Travis Pierce, known as Travis, is a 33-year-old devoted husband, father, 
and follower of Christ, living in Texas. Alongside his wife, Kim, a nurse educator, and their infant son, August, Travis is deeply committed to serving God and others. Together, they lead in their church as worship team members and Elders, embodying their shared passion for ministry and discipleship.
Travis’s calling is clear: to become an Evangelist and pursue ordination through Christian Leaders Alliance. His journey, however, has been anything but linear.
A Transformative Encounter
Travis’s path to Christ began in an unexpected moment at 16 when his father burst through their front door with newfound faith. In that backroom of his childhood home, Travis experienced the convicting presence of the Holy Spirit for the first time. Though his initial surrender to Christ led to baptism, the subsequent years were marked by struggle and distance from faith. Yet, God’s grace never let go. In 2021, Travis found himself back in church, where his faith was rekindled. There, he met his wife, rediscovered his calling, and began the journey toward ordination.
A Family Ministry
Today, Travis and Kim are living out their calling together. As Outreach and Missions Directors, they are actively involved in evangelism and discipleship. Travis has a heart for sharing Christ’s love, whether in the church or during his work as a truck driver. Every delivery he makes within 100 miles of his city becomes an opportunity to share the hope of Jesus. His wife’s passion for missions complements his calling, making them a dynamic team for the Gospel.
Their commitment to training and preparation led Travis to Christian Leaders Institute (CLI), a choice rooted in his desire for debt-free, high-quality ministry education. CLI’s flexible, comprehensive programs have enabled Travis to grow as a leader while balancing his family and work responsibilities.
The Call to Ordination
Travis views ordination not as a title but as a deeper commitment to serve God and others. His journey at CLI has equipped him with the knowledge and confidence to pursue a Bachelor’s degree and further ministry training. His pastor, a trusted mentor, encourages him to develop his gifts and go wherever God calls.
Reflecting on his journey, Travis emphasizes the importance of discipleship, a cornerstone of his ministry vision. He is determined to disciple others, ensuring that new believers not only encounter Christ but also grow into mature, equipped followers.

Travis’s passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions drives his pursuit of ordination in Texas. He believes every soul matters to God and longs for others to experience the transformative power of Jesus, as he did. Whether through his church, his work as a truck driver, or future ministry endeavors, Travis is committed to making Christ known.

As he says, “Wherever the Lord would take my family, we will be prepared to share with the world the Hope of Glory, Jesus Christ.”
