Associate Minister Ordination
Associate Minister Ordination with CLA
My name is William La Breck, and I am excited about my Associate Minister Ordination. I grew up in Watertown, NY. I was born in 1972, to a middle-class family and an only child. My upbringing was a Christian home with the primary influence from my mom. For that, I am very thankful for her love of God and dedication in faithful church attendance.
My Early Calling
During my high school years, I participated in the youth group. Also, I often joined some of the men on Saturday mornings for the door to door witnessing. I always loved sports and worked with the younger kids in Vacation Bible School. It was during my high school years that I knew God was calling me to ministry. I felt the calling to be a youth pastor for a church and a physical education teacher for a Christian school.
Marriage Distraction
I married at the age of young 20, in 1993. She was a woman I met at a Christian college. She told me if I married her, I needed a real job. No way was she going to be a pastor’s wife and live on a pastor’s salary. Despite God’s calling on my life, I married her. We attended church regularly, and I also taught the youth group and men’s ministry for years. The real blessing is the three awesome kids I have that came out of the marriage.
In 2010, my wife told me she found someone else and would no longer go through the motions. My kids and I struggled. I put everything in God and sought Christian counseling. I stepped down from ministry so that I could focus on my personal life. Frustrated, I stepped away from a close daily walk with God. Of course, I knew God was there, and I believed. However, I was not living and practicing it.
New Direction and Renewed Call
I went to a new church and found a great pastor who encouraged me and mentored me. It is there that I also met my current wife. We dated for two years and have been married for three years. She is a godly woman and is very supportive of me and my call to ministry. She has two kids, and we are now blessed to have five children that we call our own.
When the divorce happened in 2010, I was in the middle of taking a master’s course at Liberty. Recently, my wife said I should continue the calling God had on my life years ago. She is fully supportive of wherever God calls or leads me. I felt it would be selfish of me at 46 to sacrifice the money that our kids need for college. We continued to pray about it.
Study at CLI and Associate Minster Ordination with CLA
Then, a friend told me about the Christian Leaders Institute. I have now taken over 70 credits and have received numerous awards. I gained and learned so much training that I needed. My calling to the ministry now seems to be a reality thanks to God, my wife, and CLI. I talked to my pastor and mentor about this prior to taking classes. I have received his blessings and approval. We talk weekly about what I am learning and applying. He also gives me classes to teach and apply hands-on as I continue to pursue God’s calling in my life.
The online associate minister ordination opportunity with the Christian Leaders Alliance is a blessing. It gives me the credibility and confidence to continue in the ministry work God calls me to do. Thank you, CLI and CLA!
