A Ordination Testimony from Louisiana

Hello everyone, my name is Tanya Moore.

I am from southern Louisiana and a professional engineer approaching retirement. I have been blessed with two daughters, a daughter-in-law, two sons, a son-in-law, and numerous grandchildren. At 53 yearsGet Ordained in Louisiana old, I know I am a bit of a “late bloomer” here.

I was raised in a Christian environment and gave my life to the Lord at an early age. My parents had four children—three daughters and one son. I am the oldest, and my brother was the youngest. However, not everything was perfect growing up. My parents, though amazing, faced marital struggles. When I was 19, my brother, Adam, passed away suddenly. His death placed even greater strain on my parents’ marriage, making it a difficult time for all of us.

Throughout my life, I have faced many challenges: a failed marriage, mental abuse, lack of self-confidence, weight struggles, and the loss of not only my brother but also my parents and grandparents. These experiences challenged me in more ways than I can count. However, I constantly prayed for God’s strength and guidance to lead me through those difficult times. He has been faithful in so many ways, and I have much to be thankful for.

One of my greatest blessings is my incredible husband, Kevin. Without a doubt, I know that God sent this amazing, Christ-filled man into my life. Kevin is an ordained minister, and I trust that God has plans for us.

Together, Kevin and I have been praying for God to use us—to open and close doors as He sees fit. Before joining Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) on April 29, 2022, I had been praying for direction. I’m not even sure how I came across CLI’s website, but the moment I found it, I felt the Holy Spirit move. As I researched CLI further, I felt a deep sense of peace. After days of prayer and reflection, I shared my thoughts with my husband. Kevin, my biggest supporter and mentor, encouraged me to follow where God was leading.

Kevin and I dream of starting a small group or possibly planting a church. Above all, we want to be a blessing to others and serve in whatever way God calls us. My heart is drawn to helping others through my own life experiences, and I believe receiving the right training will equip me to do so.

Through prayer and the education I have received from CLI, I now feel led to pursue ordination and have been accepted into a degree program. The education I have received so far has been outstanding, and I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity. I am not entirely sure what God has planned for me, but I am excited to move forward in His will.

Please pray for me as I continue on this journey.

“I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13

STEP INTO MINISTRY: BECOME ORDAINED IN LOUISIANA

Have you ever dreamed of being part of life’s most joyful and sacred moments? Becoming ordained in Louisiana as a wedding officiant could be your first step into ministry. It’s more than just officiating ceremonies—it’s about celebrating love, honoring God, and guiding couples as they embark on their journey together. In this role, you’re not just leading a service; you’re sharing in the beauty of God’s design for marriage.

As the Bible says in Genesis 2:24 (WEB), “Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.” Marriage is a sacred covenant created by God, and helping couples celebrate this commitment is a profound way to serve others.

How to Become Ordained in Louisiana

Becoming ordained in Louisiana to officiate weddings is straightforward, but it requires preparation, dedication, and a heart to serve. Here’s how to get started:

Connect with the Couple

Every wedding is unique, just like every couple’s love story. Spend time getting to know them—their dreams, values, and faith journey. Proverbs 16:9 (WEB) says, “A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.” As you guide the couple, rely on God’s wisdom to shape a ceremony that reflects their love and His glory.

Plan and Practice

Rehearsals are an essential part of ensuring the ceremony goes smoothly. By walking through each step with the couple and their loved ones, you’ll help everyone feel prepared and confident for the big day.

Officiate the Ceremony

On the wedding day, you’ll lead a Christ-centered service filled with prayer, Scripture, and a heartfelt message. Passages like 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB) beautifully describe the essence of love:
“Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.”

Finalize the Marriage License

In Louisiana, it’s essential to ensure the marriage license is completed, signed, and returned to the parish clerk’s office. This step makes the union legally binding in the state.

Sharing God’s Love Through Wedding Messages

Crafting the wedding message is one of the most rewarding parts of being a wedding officiant. It’s more than just a speech; it’s an opportunity to share God’s wisdom about love, commitment, and faith. Your words, inspired by Scripture, will encourage the couple and their guests.

Matthew 19:6 (WEB) says, “So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.” Your message can emphasize the strength and beauty of a marriage built on faith and God’s love.
