New Hampshire Wedding Officiant Laws Made Simple

In New Hampshire, officiants such as ministers, priests, or other religious leaders must be ordained by a recognized organization to legally perform weddings. Officiants are required to register with the New Hampshire Secretary of State before conducting ceremonies. Proper ordination documentation ensures compliance with state laws. After the ceremony, officiants must complete and return the marriage license to the town clerk for official recording.

Ordination Story in New Hampshire

A close friend of mine recently asked if I would officiate his wedding. I told him I was honored but needed time to think about it. I spent a lot of time praying and researching. I didn’t want to simply pay Become Ordained in New Hampshirean online fee and automatically receive an ordination; I wanted it to mean something, and I wanted to be fully prepared for such a special occasion.

Then I found Christian Leaders Institute, and I shouted, “Thank You, God!” I feel truly blessed for this opportunity. I accepted my friend’s request and am incredibly grateful for CLI. Now, I’m determined to take every class possible and pursue a degree. It has always been my dream to serve as a Minister of the Word. God is good!

My Journey of Faith

After graduating high school in New Hampshire, I embarked on a great adventure by joining the United States Marine Corps. During those four years, I learned honor, integrity, and the importance of serving others. After my time in the Marines, I continued to serve as a public servant.

When I started dating my wife, she invited me to church. At first, I attended only for her, not out of personal interest. One evening, while sitting in church, the pastor preached a sermon that addressed a struggle I was currently facing. The following week, it happened again—this time, I felt as though the pastor was speaking directly to me. I began asking a lot of questions, which led me to buy my own Bible and start reading it. In 2011, I was baptized, and my relationship with the Lord began to grow.

Answering God’s Call

A few years later, we moved to the other side of the state, about five hours away, to a completely new area. After much prayer and listening to God, we found a new church home. I continued to grow in my faith, becoming an active member of the church. I served as a Ministry Leader, Bible Study Leader, and a Mentor for other small group leaders. My passion for ministry only deepened as I regularly attended church training sessions, always seeking to learn, grow, and serve.

At the time, I couldn’t afford Bible college because my wife was pursuing her education, and it didn’t seem feasible. Still, the dream of formal ministry training stayed in my heart.

Making My Dream a Reality

With Christian Leaders Institute and Christian Leaders Alliance, my dream is finally possible! I am so excited to continue growing in knowledge and faith, serving others, and answering God’s call to ministry.

God is faithful, and I am ready for this journey!
