Hello, I am Teri Lindsey, currently residing in Central Missouri. I am a 65-year-old woman, retired from the secular workforce, dedicating my time to bringing as many people as I can to Christ before I enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I’m a retired Vocational Education Teacher from the public school system and hold a Master of Education in Curriculum Planning. Instead of walking across the stage for my diploma, I was training with a National Guard unit for duty in Iraq, where I spent my 50th and 51st birthdays. My 32-year career in the Army Reserve/National Guard was a significant part of my life.
Being a mother of four and grandmother of nine has been my greatest blessing from the Lord, and I thank Him every day.
I have lived a diverse life full of education, fun, laughter, love, death, tragedy, and divorce. God has been present in my life from an early age, but I didn’t reach spiritual maturity in Christ until five years ago, when I dedicated myself to a lifelong adventure of learning what the Bible says to me personally. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I have studied the Bible through free online classes and books, reaching the level of maturity I now possess. I am committed to continually increasing my knowledge to share the Good News of Christ with unbelievers and guide new believers toward maturity. CLA will help me reach my goal of leading others to Christ.
Growing up as a latch-key kid with the world at my fingertips, I found myself attending Vacation Bible School every summer at local churches. I went mainly for the punch and cookies, not for the Lord—but He was there for me, quietly instilling faith in God and Jesus. At 12, I went through confirmation classes and was sprinkled in baptism. I received my first Bible but didn’t understand much of it. At 13, I joined the workforce, putting God on the back burner for years. Though He remained in my life, I wasn’t maturing in Christ. At 19, I received my true calling from the Lord, was baptized by immersion, and received the Holy Spirit. Life felt complete. I was working full-time, attending college full-time, and deeply in love with the Lord.
I married a divorced man and started my adult life in southern Arkansas, far from my roots in northeast Oklahoma. Five months later, my sister passed away, and I became the mother of her 3-year-old son. What amazed me was that God had sent me a prophecy in a dream three days before her death. She had the same dream, as I later learned from her friend, but we both ignored the message. This experience taught me to be more attuned to the gifts I had received from the Holy Spirit. Fifteen years later, my husband sought “greener pastures,” and we divorced. The Lord took hold of my life, transforming me into what I can only describe as a “superwoman.” With His guidance, I raised children, worked, and pursued higher education as a single mother. What seemed like a rotten chapter in my life became a golden opportunity, as God continued to pour His gifts upon me.
My dream is to create a house ministry where I can reach unbelievers without the prejudices they might feel walking into a church. By first accepting the Lord with all their faults, they can grow spiritually and, in time, join a church for the fellowship it provides. In essence, I want to serve the same punch and cookies to adults and children that I received as a child.
My time at CLI has inspired me to expand my vision beyond house ministry. I aim to earn certificates and licenses in areas such as Wedding Officiant, Life Coaching, Licensed Minister, Chaplaincy, and Ordained Ministry. These credentials will enable me to serve more effectively in weddings, baptisms, funerals, illnesses, and other areas of need. I never realized how vast and multifaceted ministry could be. Currently, I am a Licensed Wedding Officiant, a Commended Field Minister, and a Licensed Minister.
