Become Ordained in Wyoming: Your Guide to Legally, Spiritually, and Academically Preparing for Wedding Officiant Ministry

Becoming ordained in Wyoming to officiate weddings is a meaningful way to serve your community and celebrate life’s important milestones. Wyoming law outlines requirements for wedding officiants, and the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) offers study-based credentials to help you meet these standards and excel in this role.

Understanding Wyoming’s Wedding Officiant Laws

In Wyoming, the authority to officiate weddings is governed by state law. The following individuals can legally officiate:

  • Religious Officials: Ministers, priests, and other clergy ordained by recognized religious organizations.
  • Judicial Officials: Judges, magistrates, and clerks authorized by law.

To officiate as a religious official, you must provide proof of ordination. Wyoming does not require officiants to register with the state, but having proper documentation is important if requested.

After officiating, you are responsible for completing the marriage license and returning it to the issuing clerk’s office for official recording.

Ordination Testimony from Wyoming

My name is Tyler Oyler, and I am from Wyoming, USA. I was raised in a Christian household, faithfully attending church every Sunday.

In seventh grade, I joined my church’s youth group, where I remained an active member through my Become Ordained in Wyomingsenior year of high school. Through this group, I met some of the greatest mentors in my life, attended annual week-long youth camps, and participated in a few short mission trips.

During this time, and even after graduating from high school, I often felt a recurring desire to pursue full-time ministry. However, struggles with insecurities, depression, and addictions held me back from answering God’s call.

One night in March 2019, shortly before my 21st birthday, my mind was overwhelmed with doubts. In desperation, I cried out to God, begging for a sign that He was real. As I closed my eyes, I saw the word “Learn” in bright, golden letters. In that moment, I felt God’s undeniable presence.

This experience transformed me. I began spending several hours a day searching for truth, addressing every question I had ever held. For over a year, I devoted all my free time to deep study. I approached my research with an open mind, exploring every major religion and earnestly seeking God’s direction. What I discovered is that all my roads lead to Jesus!

As I studied the Bible, I often found myself in tears, overwhelmed by the realization of who Jesus truly is and the profound significance of His sacrifice on the cross. Since then, God has completely restored my confidence, strengthened my faith, and given me an unshakable sense of peace and joy.

In July 2021, I married my amazing wife, Aleigha. She has been an incredible blessing in my life, encouraging me to delve into God’s Word daily. Together, we hope to raise a family that truly understands the gospel and what it means to be disciples of Christ.

I am so grateful to have found Christian Leaders Institute. These courses have enabled me to dive deeper into the Bible and become better equipped to face life’s challenges while helping those in need. I am excited to serve the Lord and follow His calling for my life, wherever it may lead.

I have recently gotten involved in a local church and hope to begin volunteering with the youth ministry soon. Having this Minister Ordination with a Youth specialization with the Christian Leaders Alliance will help me effectively teach and guide the students God places in my path.

I would greatly appreciate prayers for my family—that we stay focused on God’s calling, thrive in our ministry, and help the people we encounter find fullness in their relationship with God.
